Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Plans and implements the instructional program for assigned subject area(s) following the school and school division policies, regulations, procedures, and the Virginia Standards of
2. Employs a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the range of student abilities and needs, including available instructional tech
3. Monitors student behavior and maintains discipline for a safe learning envi Encourages appropriate behavior standards acceptable in the school community.

5. Maintains accurate student records as required by the school, school division, and state of Virginia policies and procedures. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding student
6. Participates in the testing program by utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to assist students in the highest levels of achievement. Follows all school, school division rules and regulations and state and federal laws regarding testing.
7. Effectively communicates with parents regarding their child’s educational progress via periodic written reports and verbal communications including, but not limited to scheduled progress reports, report cards, and parent/teacher conference days as per school and school division policies and
8. Effectivity communicates with teachers, grade level specialist, and administrators on the progress and attendance of students.

Minimum Training and Experience:

Four-year degree from an accredited college or university on the state of Virginia approved list.

Hold a Virginia license in the music teaching area or eligibility for a Virginia license with application for the Virginia license within 90 days of employment.
