POSITION TITLE:  Part Time Math Paraprofessional, 24 hours weekly

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Degree.  Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

 

REPORTS TO:  Classroom Teacher and Building Principal

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  The job of a Math Paraprofessional is to provide support to the mathematics instructional program.   The Math Paraprofessional will help teachers facilitate the integration of at-risk supports which focuses on effective instructional and behavioral practices related to the specific needs of each child.

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists individual or small groups of students for the purpose of building background knowledge, practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching academic goals and grade level standards in the area of math. 
• Work with and provide direct instruction/intervention with individuals , small groups, or large groups in the area of math as assigned by the teacher, principal, and/or assistand principals.
• Collaborates with teachers regarding student progress for the purpose of developing a successful learning environment and identifying appropriate tools and resources.
• Exhibit dependability and punctuality in assigned duties.
• Display appropriate personal and professional traits that exhibit a positive role model for students.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Attend intervention meetings, when requested to, and share pertinent information with building administration grade level teams.
• Maintain various records and files.
• Perform related work as required.
